Rick Crosby
Rick has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry where he worked with Mass Mutual as the General Agent before founding Crosby and Co. Insurance Agency in 1996 located in Mt. Pleasant. This past fall the company established their new title as Crosby Insurance Group with the acquisition of their Property and Casualty insurance agency located in Summerville. Rick is committed to serving his clients and offering the most value and insurance protection you need. Crosby is native to Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from the Citadel in 1975 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He continued his education at The American College where he became a Registered Health Underwriter.
Crosby is a deacon and an elder of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. He currently resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Marie and has two children and two step-children.

Katy has been an employee of Crosby Insurance Group since its start in June of 1996. She grew up in York, SC and had just completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management from Clemson University when she began working for Rick Crosby. Throughout her experience working with Crosby Insurance Group she has gained extensive knowledge in various fields of insurance and has also filled many administrative roles to help grow and sustain the company. When it comes to dealing with her clients, her primary focus is offering the best value for group benefits and products.
Katy currently resides in Mount Pleasant and is a member of the Junior League of Charleston and St. Andrews Church. She has earned the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation through The American College and is in the process of completing the Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) designation.

Marie Crosby
Marie is the office manager for the Crosby Insurance Group Mount Pleasant Location. Her exposure to the insurance industry began upon her marriage with Rick Crosby. She is native to Rossford, Ohio and moved to the lowcountry in 1997. Prior to working with Crosby, she worked for Ross Roy Advertising Agency in Detroit as an Account Executive on the Chrysler account. She also has over 13 years experience in Human Resources and Personnel Staffing, managing Kelly Services in Toledo, OH and Dunhill Temporary Staffing in Mount Pleasant.
Her true passion is fitness. She has held an ACE national certification in group fitness and personal training for over 20 years. She currently teaches aerobics at Mount Pleasant and West Ashley Aerobics and Fitness. Marie also works as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Christmas Commandos, a group that assists families who have lost a loved one within the given year.

Laura Olsen
Laura loves working with people and helping them plan for their future. Being the administrative assistant for the Crosby Insurance Group is the perfect place to be able to do just that. Laura is excited to be a part of Crosby's vision of bringing exciting projects like the South Carolina Health Care Cooperative to the public to help make healthcare accessible to a wider portion of the community.
In her other life she is an accomplished photographer. Photographing animals at the local shelter, Pet Helpers, began a passion that has grown into more than just a hobby. Look for her photos in various local publications including Charleston Magazine, The Charleston Mercury and Lowcountry Dog.
Laura moved to James Island in 2002. She resides there with her family today.

Melinda Burns
Melinda is one our agents that specializes in property and casualty insurance. Melinda started working for Crosby Insurance Group in July 2009. Melinda has 12 years of insurance experience tracing back to her High School years where she worked at her family owned agency called Rawlins and Rawlins Inc., a branch of Allstate located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Melinda graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality. Melinda is an avid golfer with prior experience as a food and beverage manager at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, SC and Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY, both hosts of several PGA Tournaments. She has lived in Summerville, SC since June 2008 and resides with her husband, infant daughter, and two miniature dachshunds.

Harriett Mcdaniel
Harriett is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent at our Summerville location. She has been with Crosby Insurance since May 2010 through Dunhill Staffing, but has recently become an official member of our team. Harriett began her insurance career in 2000 working for a local independent agent, but then spent the next few years gaining experience with Allstate agents in the Charleston area.
She is a native of Summerville and a graduate of Northside Christian School where she attended from kindergarten through high school. Harriett spends her free time with her husband and two teenage boys along with her dog and two cats. She loves people and devotes her life on being moral and honest.
